Gear and Essentials Product Review
When it comes to motorcycles nothing is more important than getting the right gear, not to mention other things that make our lives on the iron horse just much more fun! None of these items reviewed have been endorsed, paid by or solicited by companies. These are just our opinions and experiences when using them and hopefully help others deciding on what to buy just a little easier.
GoGo Leggings: Recommended by Kitt and Jeanne
Kevlar meets leggings and its a marriage made in heaven! Running true to size, these fit from the smallest to the larger full figured gals with no problem. The leggings (used loosely here as they are more substanal than actual leggings) are a heavier material and best suited for colder rides such as early spring and into fall. Wearing them in the summer can prove challenging as they are made of kevlar which does not allow sweat to evaporate as much as regular jeans. Regardless they are a STEAL at $159. and worth every penny.
Draggin Jeans Under Gear: Recommended by Jeanne
Draggin Jeans Co have several safety riding gear for women riders, but where they truly shine is in the undergear department. Starting off with their under gear pants, they are made of 100% kevlar and fit much like thermal underwear. They are relatively light weight and are best suited for any type of weather including hot summer days since they are worn under jeans. Easy to wash and can even be worn as pjs for camping! The next piece in their lineup for undergear is the kevlar undershirt, a long sleeve shirt that can be worn as is (with another tank underneath as it is rather seethrough) or under t-shirts or long sleeve shirts. The sleeves are secured with heavy velcro and provide extra protection on the elbows. They are NOT padded, but have an extra layer added. At $159. for each piece they are a little more pricey BUT for comfort during warmer months it is a home run.
Bohn Body Armor (under gear) Recommended by: Jeanne
Keep your knees, hips and shins protected with the Bohn pants. They are made of breathable lycra which stretches to make it a comfortable fit, and are cleverly armored with thick foam inserts to give you added protection. They are not kevlar, but provide even more comfort during hot summer rides, and let's face it some protection is better than none at all. Priced at $159. they also offer an under shirt with meshing to keep you cool but safe as well.
